Unit 5 of Python for Cyber Security
Driving Nessus, Metasploit and Nexpose from Python, folding scanning, targeted checks and reporting into one workflow, and controlling Nmap from a script.
Learning outcomes
The assembly line: a vulnerability assessment done by hand is the lone craftsman, with a chance to slip at every handoff. Driving each tool from one Python script turns scan, parse, enrich and report into the same repeatable line every time.
The building inspector: Nessus checks a target against a continuously updated database of known flaws and scores each finding. Driving it through its REST API, authenticated with a revocable key pair, lets the whole inspection launch, wait and read back from one script.
