Python for Cyber Security
Learn Python by building the tools a security analyst actually uses: network sockets and banner grabbers, port scanners, SSH automation, forensic scripts, packet analysers, and pipelines that drive Nessus, Metasploit and Nexpose. Every idea comes with an everyday analogy, a documented real incident, working code and a diagram.
Instructor: Ashish Revar
Unit 1
The Python you need to write a real security tool, and the networking you need to understand what that tool does on the wire: variables, lists, dictionaries, functions, classes and files, then IP addresses, ports, TCP and UDP, the three-way handshake, sockets, banner grabbing, a reusable socket server and exception handling.
Unit 2
A port scanner, an SSH automation client, a keylogger demonstration and how to catch one, credential testing across protocols, web automation with Mechanize, scraping with Beautiful Soup, reconnaissance, and how passwords are actually stored. Every exercise runs only in an authorised lab.

A commercial scanner is somebody else's menu. The analyst who can write twenty lines of Python eats when the menu runs out. Here is why Python is the language that keeps turning up in security tools.
